The device uses an oscillometric method to measure blood pressure and pulse rate. The cuff is connected to the electronic unit and wrapped around the shoulder. When you press the button, the device starts automatically inflating the cuff, during which blood pressure is measured. The sensor element of the device detects the slight fluctuations in pressure in the cuff produced by the expansion and contraction of the brachial artery in response to each heartbeat. The rhythm and amplitude of the pressure waves is measured and displayed on the LCD display as a digital value in millimeters of mercury.

The device’s arrhythmia indicator will indicate the presence of an irregular pulse using a special symbol on the display; the measurement result will be correct. The Interference Indicator detects body movements or external noise that may affect the accuracy of your blood pressure readings. By displaying a special symbol, the device warns that the results may be inaccurate and the measurement should be repeated.
